I know it's a lame title, but I didn't know what else to call this thing...

Late night drunken dialing

I received a phone call last night from two drunken dialers! It was an unfamiliar phone number, so I screened the call to let them leave a message. It turned out to be Amie and Brad, who were doing the age-old activity of dialing while intoxicated! They left a very cute message, but when I tried to call them back using the number on my caller ID, it said the phone had been disconnected! WTF? I would have LOVED to have talked to them at what would have been 1:30 a.m. their time on a school night!

DARN!

Obsessive compulsive behavior

Okay, so I'm slightly obsessive compulsive. When I need to veg, I watch the same movies over and over. I won't list them because they're mostly guilty pleasures, but now that I think of it, they're probably listed in my profile. Yikes. Sad times. Anyway, the reason I'm mentioning this is because I'm currently OBSESSED with a Decemberist song called The Mariners Revenge. Now, the Decemberists are not a new band. My friends have been telling me how great they are for a while now. But sometimes it takes me a while to come around. Well. I've come around. At least to this song. When I listen to it, I listen to it three times in a row and it's around nine minutes long! That's quite a commitment. But it's just so well written. If I were web savvy, I'd post the MP3 right here. But I'm not, so you'll have to google it yourself!

To the three people who might read this, you might have already heard this song, but if you haven't...

Brad: you'll like the very English lyrics including words like magistrate and priory.
Amie: you'll like the history and storytelling.
Jeff: you'll like the sea shanty feel to the song (I don't know if this is true, but let's pretend it is!)

Cheers!

Whew!

Okay, so setting up this blog type deal was a major undertaking for mears. I'm not what you would call "technologically advanced" so the fact that I was able to edit my links is cause for celebration. I had to undertake this blog business, however, because so far I've been reaping the benefits of the blogs of my friends (who I've known since elementary school and who I've reunited with over the internet. Sounds sad, but I assure you it isn't) without putting in any effort of my own. So here you go peeps!
